air freight sea freight

When you wish to send items such as toys, clothes or even your favorite book abroad if at all these are the things they love back there; did you know that there are several ways of doing it? These various modes of sending items are named as "freight." For this, we have two methods- one is air freight and the other being sea freight. But are they viable alternatives to each other goes without saying and here we will see how it actually boils down.

Contrary to sea freight, air freight involves sending containers via aircrafts. This is the reason why these things get to their destination so fast is because planes can fly quickly and high in the sky. Sea freight, on the other hand is when it goes by boats or ships. This takes longer because of the slower speed at which ships travel over water. Air freight, though, is not as cost-effective solution when compared to transportations via sea. The answer involves money and how much you are willing to spend for speed, usually air freight (a lot) compared with time at sea providing a lower cost outcome in most cases.

Air or Sea?

Of course, then you should think about how big and heavy the things are that we want to transport. If the parking spaces are heavy and/or large, it is usually cheaper to use sea freight. Basically, the larger items you have to send, or if it is heavy stuff like furniture then its much better going via a boat. But if what we want to send are items that have small and light weights like a book or toy, Air Freight is more advisable.

Because airplanes fly in the sky, air freight can get things from place to place much more quickly. Using height for an advantage, 'I wanted to experiment more with direct flights,' said Zipline CEO Keller Rinaudo. A further time-saving measure: skipping over the traffic-clogged roads and flying directly where they need to go. Planes are also more reliable generally because they do not have to worry about traffic jams or bad weather the way trucks might.
